Hawaiian Tattoos - An ongoing trend in the tattoo world
Tattoo art has seen a veritable revolution in the form of Hawaiian tribal tattoos, Hawaiian flowers, and more. It has become a fashion statement of sorts nowadays to sport a Hawaiian tattoo band around the wrists, ankles or the neck.
This trend in Hawaiian tattoos is part of a tribal art movement that has been around on a pretty big scale for quite some time now. An instance of this dates back to the Second World War—the Hawaiian hula-hoop dancer tattoo. While this is a very old tribal tattoo design, many people continue to associate it with Hawaiian tattoo art, completely oblivious of the new trends that are transforming the ancient art. Culture, however, is a delicate thing, and its representation in any form, no matter how small and seemingly insignificant, is an even more risky proposition.
